Basic Fashion Studies
Basic Fashion Studies introduces first-level bachelor students to the vocabulary, historical foundations, design fundamentals, and industry structure of fashion. The course adopts a student-centred, activity-based pedagogy so that students construct understanding through studio exercises, collaborative research, critique, and project work rather than passive lecture alone. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the foundational knowledge and beginner-level design/illustration skills required for subsequent core courses in pattern-making, garment construction, and collection development.
